Big-hitting American Tony Finau got a harsh lesson at the Masters Par-3 contest earlier today when he appeared to dislocate his ankle while celebrating moments after he made a hole-in-one on the 7th hole.
Finau - who is preparing to make his Masters debut - watched his ball spin more than 30 feet feet across the green and into the cup before sprinting from the tee, turning and jogging backwards, which proved his undoing.
The 28-year-old landed awkwardly on his left foot and was down on his haunches for a few seconds, then appeared to pop his ankle back into place before waving to the crowd and limping away afterwards.
By all indications, Finau will tee it up once the tournament gets underway late tonight, but his stumble can't bode well for his chances of contending.
