Final Asian Tour qualifying begins

Final Qualifying for the 2011 Asian Tour begins on January 19th at the Imperial Lakeview and Springfield Royal Country Club in Hua Hin in Thailand with participants chasing one of the 40 places available on the Asian Tour schedule this season.

The first Asian Tour event of 2011 begins in India on February 17th when the Avantha Masters is played at the DLF Golf and Country Club although many of those earning their cards this week would be ineligible for that particular event, given its co-sanctioning with the European Tour.

A field of more than 180 players including ten Australians and one New Zealander are entered for this week's Final Stage.

The Australasians include former leading amateurs Matt Jager and Kieran Pratt, Jager the current Australian Amateur Champion.
