The 50 year Spaniard's last regular tour event victory came at the Hong Kong Open last December so he is now in the invidious position of being more than competitive on both tours with all sorts of options now open to him now that he has full status on the Champions Tour.
Also in his sights will be the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in September where he is currently well enoughed placed to be a genuine chance of making the European side.
Langer finished 8th at Augusta National last week so the form against such a significantly stronger field carried over.
Jay Haas was 3rd and Fred Couples, another to do well at the Masters, was 4th.
Peter Senior had a good enough week when he finished 16th after a final round of 68.
