The European side has a commanding lead over the Asia Pacific Team as the Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy heads into its final day today at the Karnataka Golf Association's course in Bangalore in India.

The 12 man European side lead 12½ to 7½ with the twelve singles matches remaining.

The Australian pairing of Taylor MacDonald and Geoff Drakeford have been the standouts for the Asia Pacific side, winning three of their four encounters

Queenslander MacDonald takes on England's Ryan Evans in Friday's Singles encounter while Victorian Drakeford tackles Ashley Chesters.

Evans is the current Australian Stroke-play and Lake Macquarie Champion while Chesters is the European Amateur Champion.

The biennial event is being played in India for the first occasion. Ten players per team are used in the opening four rounds of Fourball and Foursome matches before all 12 play the Singles.

In the seven previous encounters between the respective sides the Europeans have won five and the Asia Pacific side two.
