England's Ryan Evans wins Lake Macquarie

England's Ryan Evans added to an already successful visit to Australia with a two shot victory over New Zealander Luke Toomey and West Australian Jarryd Felton at the Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship at the Belmont Golf Club near Newcastle.

Evans was the leading qualifier at the recent Australian Amateur Championship although he was defeated in the opening round of the match play phase but the 26 year old from the Wellingborough Golf Club in Northamptonshire in England has claimed at least one significant trophy while in this country.

The Berkshire Trophy Champion of 2013 and a reserve for the 2013 Great Britain Walker Cup side will now play the NSW Amateur Championship this week.

Bonnie Doon's Jordan Zunic finished on his own in 4th position while the recently crowned Australian Amateur Champion Tae Koh was 5th.

The round of the day came from New Zealander Vaughn McCall whose 65 was three better than the next best score.
