New South Welshman, Harrison Endycott, has today taken out the Men’s Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship at the Belmont Golf Club south of Newcastle by two shots over Queenslander, Charlie Dann, while New Zealander Luke Toomey and Britain’s Bradley Moore tied for 3rd.

Endycott, from the Avondale Golf Club in Sydney, overcame a late double bogey to birdie two of his final three holes, after beginning the final round one shot off the 54 hole pace set by West Australian Ben Ferguson, to win one of Australia’s more significant amateur titles.

Dann, who had finished 3rd at the recent Master of the Amateurs, recovered from a horror finish to his third round for a final round of 67, recording yet another impressive performance in what has been a great start to 2016 for the Sunshine Coast golfer.

The Women’s Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship was dominated by international golfers, more especially Koreans with Hye-Jin Choi winning by three shots over recently crowned Australian Amateur Champion Min-Ji Park.

The leading Australian woman was Robyn Choi in 6th position with West Australian Hannah Green two shots further back
