The finalists at the New South Wales Amateur Championship have been decided with Long Reef's Brett Drewitt up against Michael Lambert of the NSW Golf Club in the final tomorrow at the Elanora Golf Club in the northern suburbs of Sydney.

Lambert the 12th qualifier in last week's NSW Medal Championship defeated Pennant Hills (formerly Toronoto) golfer Callan O'Reilly in this afternoon's semi-final while Drewitt defeated two time champion, Jake Higginbottom, to also advance.

It is perhaps some redemption for Drewitt who lost the Medal Championship decider last week when beaten by England's Neil Raymond on a specially set up hole after that event had been reduced to 36 holes as a result of a rain deluge. Raymond lost his first round match in the match play.

Drewitt was never behind in his match this afternoon although the talented Higginbottom did fight back from a disastrous start when he lost four of his first six holes. The match was still in the balance through 15 holes but Drewitt win the 16th to win 3&2

O'Reilly went ahead early in his match but was reeled in by Lambert who then went ahead. Their match ended all square through 18 although Lambert was able to win at the first extra hole.

The final will be played over 36 holes beginning at 8.00am
