Curtis Luck in US Junior Quarter Finals

West Australian Curtis Luck is the only surviving Australian at the US Junior Amateur Championship at Carlton Woods Golf Club near Houston following his 5&4 victory over Californian Joshua McCarthy in today's Round of 16.

Victoria's Zach Murray was eliminated 1 down in the same round by England's Sam Horsfield after winning his round one and two encounters.

Earlier, in yesterday's opening round of match play, the recently crowned World Junior Champion Ryan Ruffels bowed out when defeated by Norway's Andreas Halvorsen.

Luck will now play Ohio's Will Grimmer in tomorrow's Quarter-Final. The talented Sandgroper faces a tough opponent in Grimmer, the 17 year old good enough to have recorded a round of 59 at last year Junior North and South Amateur at Pinehurst # 1 and qualified to play this year's US Open.
