Can Porter back up in Athens?

The Nationwide Tour is in Athens, Georgia this week for the Stadion Athens Classic where a new venue is being used in 2010.

The Robert Trent Jones Snr designed layout at the University of Georgia replaces the Jennings Mill Country Club for this year's event and, despite the change, defending champion Patrick Sheehan is back to see if he can use the good memories from 2009 to right was has been a poor season to date in 2010.

Brandt Jobe is an experienced PGA Tour veteran slowly but surely rebuilding his career after injury. He has played well in several events this season including when third last week in Valdosta. After several years in Japan, where he won six events, Jobe secured status to play the PGA Tour in 2000 and although he has not won, he does have two second place finishes to his name.

All winners from season 2010 are in this week's field including last week's winner in Valdosta, Sydney's Ewan Porter. It will be interesting to see how Porter backs up this week as he could not be described as the most consistent of players and last week's win was an emotional victory for him. There is little doubting Porter's talent however.

Other Australasians in the field are Steve Alker, Adam Bland, Andrew Buckle, Gavin Coles, Nick Flanagan, Scott Gardiner, Paul Gow, Bradley Iles, Bronson la Cassie, Stephen Leaney, Won Joon Lee, David Mckenzie, Alistair Presnell and Phil Tataurangi.
