Campbell makes it two from two in Japan

Canberra golfer Chris Campbell has this week won his second consecutive event on the Japan Challenge Tour. Campbell is playing the Challenge Tour after losing his status on the Japan Golf Tour this year.

A month after winning the previous Challenge Tour event, the Shashima JGTO Challenge, Campbell returned to Ibaraki Prefecture to win the Shizu Hills Tommy Cup after a playoff against Chinese Taipei's Wei-Chih LU and Korean Seung-Ho Lee. Campbell earned ï¿¥2,700,000 or A$35,000 for his efforts.

Campbell is the brother of Japan Ladies Tour player and 2002 Australian Amateur Champion Nikki and has previously won an event on the Japan Golf Tour at the 2005 Gateway to Mizuno Open.

That win earned Campbell a start at the Open Championship at St Andrews where he missed the cut.

Given his current form and as a former champion it is a little surprising he is not in the field as an invite for next week's Mizuno Open.
