Bryden Macpherson plays Byron Nelson

21 year old Victorian golfer, Bryden McPherson, has received a late invitation to play the Byron Nelson Championship near Dallas this week following the wthdrawal of one or two injured players.

Macpherson, who won last year's British Amateur Championship, has forfeited a start at the US Open next month as a result of turning professional following the Masters where he did not make the cut but where he was impressive enough, all things considered.

Macpherson has been attending the University of Georgia in recent times after a solid amateur career in Australia.

Macpherson also played the Open Championship at Royal St Georges last year as a result of his British Amateur victory. He failed to make the cut there also but again played well given the start in such a signficant event came just a month after winning the British Amateur.
