Jones had started the final round just two shots off the lead and after an early bogey picked up two birdies and an eagle in the next few holes. At that point he was still very much in the mix for a second win in this event but bogeys at his 7th and 9th holes set him back.
Jones held his ground from that point until a double bogey on 16 and a bogey on 17 ruined any chance he might have had of finishing inside the top three.
Still it was another good finish for Jones in the event and his 7th top ten in 16 starts this season and consolidates his standing in 18th position on the 2018 Japan Tour money list with the equivalent of A$450,000 (equiv) for the season.
The tournament as won by Yuta Kinoshita who won his first Japan Tour title after a playoff with Masahiro Kawamura.
Other Australians included Scott Strange 45th, David Bransdon 52nd and Won Joon Lee and Anthony Quayle 54th.
Brad Kennedy who did not play this week currently leads the Australians on this year's money list in 13th place with over A$550,000.
