Prolific Japan Golf Tour winner, Yuta Ikeda, has the halfway lead at the Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy Cup in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

31 year old Ikeda, who has won 16 Japan Golf Tour titles, leads by one over Japan’s Satoshi Kodaira, and Taichi Teshima and Korean Jung Gong Hwang.

Brad Kennedy and Michael Hendry lead the Australasian challenge although bogeys at his final two holes today would cost Kennedy the chance of being right on the leader’s heels heading into the weekend.

Hendry was also well placed heading into the final nine but was unable to capitalise on his good start and finished with a round of 69 to be tied with Kennedy in a share of 9th position and three from the lead.

South Australian, Adam Bland, who like Hendry will play the Open Championship in two weeks, is another shot further back while Won Joon Lee and Brendan Jones are in 48th position and have just made it into the weekend field.
