Australians struggle at Japan Tour's Sega Sammy Cup

It was not a good week for the Australians at the Japan Golf Tour’s Shigeo Nagashima Sega Sammy Cup at the North Country Golf Club just outside of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Adam Bland the best of them but he would finish in 26th position.

Brad Kennedy was 33rd, Brendan Jones 41st and Won Joon Lee 60th.

Kennedy, the runner-up at the New Zealand Open earlier this year, still remains as the leading Australian on this year’s money list however, the Queenslander in 11th position after playing eight events of the season to date.

New Zealander Michael Hendry headed the Australasian challenge at week’s end, finishing in a share of 6th position following his final round of 68.

The tournament was won by 27 year old American Chan Kim who won for the second occasion in his last three starts in just his second season on the Japan Tour Japan Tour and moves into second position on the 2017 Japan Tour money list.

Chan birdied his final two holes today to win by one over Korean Jung Gong Hwan.

After just returning from a break of over one month or so, the Japan Tour frustratingly now has another three weeks off before the Dunlop SRIXON Fukushima Open beginning on July 27th.
