Four Australians and one New Zealander have made it into the top sixteen of the Western Amateur following the completion of 72 holes at the Donald Ross designed Beverly Golf Club in Chicago.

New Zealander, Josh Munn, was the only player in the field to record four rounds in the 60's and at 12 under par he lies in a share of 2nd position, two shots behind local golfer Doug Ghim.

Brisbane's, Taylor MacDonald, and Victorian hotshot, Geoff Drakeford, share 4th position, four shots from the lead while Queenslander Cory Crawford and Victorian Lucas Herbert are another two shots back.

The leading sixteen players, known as the "Sweet Sixteen," will now advance to the match play knockout phase of the contest
