Adam Bland contends in Austria

Adam Bland’s third round of 66 at the Shot Clock Masters near Vienna in Austria has him six shots from the lead but only one shot out of 2nd place and so any stumble from the leader Mikko Korhonen could see the left hander in with a chance of a maiden European Tour title.

Bland earned his European Tour status via the Australasian Tour money list in 2017, the leading player on that money list not otherwise exempt for the European Tour earning status.

After several years on the Japan Tour Bland has played 12 events on the 2018 European Tour, his best when a very impressive 18th at the WGC event in Mexico.

Bland has won lesser events in Australia and Canada and won the Japan PGA Championship three years ago but a win at this level would secure his status in Europe for the mid-term future.

Finland’s Korhonen leads by five over South African Justin Walters with the large group another shots back and tied with Bland including Miguel Angel Jimenez and former winner Ashun Wu amongst others.

Nick Cullen is the next best of the Australians in 11th position and seven shots from the lead.
