Collie Golf Club
18 Holes
PAR 72
6004 M

Collie Golf Club is located in the lovely town of Collie, nestled in the picturesque Collie River Valley, 200km south of Perth, Western Australia. The 6,004m, 18 hole, par 72 layout on the banks of the meandering Collie River features one of Australia’s top 100 golf holes, and offers a first class, enjoyable and affordable golf experience – an exhilarating challenge characterised by tree lined doglegs, punishing rough, and fast, true grass greens. Keen golfers would also know that part of the pleasure of the great game is the flora and fauna on many courses, and Collie is no exception.

Ducks and kangaroos abound, with members deriving great pleasure from watching ducklings and joeys growing up through spring. The course is particularly colourful towards the end of winter and early spring, when Western Australia’s famous wildflower season is in full bloom. Collie Golf Club is a friendly and active club which welcomes new members and visitors alike, and which epitomises the very best of country golf in Western Australia.

The fully reticulated course provides year round golf to the highest standard, hosting major regional events such as the Summer Open and the Riverside Open, while the clubhouse, bar, and competitions five days a week, provide a great social and sporting life for residents of our wonderful town and surrounding area.

One of the top 100 holes in Australia?? I doubt it. The course is tough because it's not well kept. The sand bunkers would be better for skate boarding competitions rather than golfing. The greens have uneven speed and look like they're about to die. The tee off areas are rough and uneven. The bar is hardly open. The fairways are sparse and in need of being developed more. Capel, Bunbury, Binningup and Sanctuary leave this place for dead.

This is a reasonable country course, with good greens. The layout is interesting with a lot of doglegs and it is a tight driving course. If you get off the fairways it is very dry and the fairways are firm and a little sparse. It is a reasonable course to walk and utilises an honesty box system apart from main comp days. The green fees of $20 for 18 holes is reasonable and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Be careful playing the 2nd as the out of bounds is very close to the corner of the dogleg

Collie is one of the South West's little treasures. A short 18 holes that offer variety and a testing challenge to any golfer. It has holes for all golfers from easy to hard. Plays differently as the seasons change and has some of the greatest little grass greens you could ever want to try. The front nine has two holes (3 and 8) that run along the Collie river and test anyone with a hook. The back nine has another hole that will challenge with a small lake before the green. If you are looking at touring the beautiful South West of WA and you have your clubs in the car and a spare afternoon at hand come and try the course, you will be very pleasantly supprised.
