Melville Glades is a private golf club located about a 20-minute drive south of the Perth CBD.

The club's golf course has been in place since 1969 when it was first designed by Sydney course architect Al Howard. Design changes over time have been made by notable golf course designers, Graham Marsh and Ross Watson.

Melville Glades is a natural Australian bushland course with couch fairways, G2 bentgrass greens and Santa Ana tees.

In 2017, the club hosted the nation's leading male amateurs for the Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches.

One word, poa, then another, poa and lastly poa. I have never seen so much poa grass in greens in my life. I am shocked how these members accept that shit in their greens! The rest of the course is actual pretty good and plays long. The new re-designed holes are stupid. Was gonna join but I won't couh up $ to putt on bumpy old poa

Melville Glades has nice couch fairways, good greens and well designed bunkering. Some new greens have been constructed in the last six months and are just starting to come good. The course has a few tight doglegs so sometimes a 3-wood is required off the tee instead of driver. Watch out for the water, 7 paces to the left of the middle of the green on the par 3, 17th. This is the only water on the course, but catches the first timers napping when they play the course for the first time - myself included. I didnt find the tougher rated par 4's on this course all that long, even the par 5's can al result in a short shot under 100m in for your 3rd, but you must drive straight all the time or the overhanging trees will get you. I will be back for another competition round now that I know the course a bit better.

Currently this course is being upgraded which appears to be significantly improvibg the design of their older style greens.

Played this course whenever in Perth over many years and worst condition ever. Fairways and tees covered with leaves plus dead patches and holes on several fairways and edges. Greens bumpy and full of wintergrass. Maintenance seems neglected whilst appears to be two new holes being developed. Very dissapointed and agree with "Golfer123"
