I reviewed this course in 2013 and described it as a real challenge. Now it's got reticulated fairways as well as the good tees and greens it had before - but it's harder!  A great challenge, long and tight with punishing rough. I normally play at Lakelands CC, slope rating 126. Chequers has a slope rating of 110 - ******** . This course is way harder. Give it a go.

BIG NEWS!!!! City of Swan have granted $800,000 for full reticulation Chequers Golf Club. Holes 2 and 11 are currently reticulated as are all greens and tee boxes. So much work has been done clearing out heavy scrub around the course also. This course will be amazing by next summer!!!!!!!!

What a great club! I first played this course a few months ago, i was welcomed to play in the Saturday afternoon Comp which was most enjoyable. I stayed for the after match presentations and was made feel very welcome, in fact the guys I played with refused to let me buy a round. I asked how many times I could play before it was required for me to join and was told the club is very flexible. Well I joined the club after my 3rd weekend! The members and staff/committee are extremely friendly and welcoming. Membership is very realistically priced, Bar and meal prices are very affordable also! I have seen the course improve week after week with hard work from the groundsmen and the dedicated member volunteers. It is a challenging long course and the slope rating of 110 is way out! Do yourself a favor and come and see for yourself!

I like to give credit where credit is due and try to look more on the positive side but if I compare against all other courses, I cant possible give it its average 3 star rating. Honest Review (playing partner agreed) I can best describe 'Hackers' as a bit of a hillbilly course, although the staff were friendly in their own kind of way. Best thing about it was the quietness for practicing shots although this was overcome a little by a local walking over to us from 2 holes away and aggressively cussing us for taking around 5 approach practice shots onto the green on one deserted hole. He said we were digging up the fairway. What annoyed us most about this is that we are are well dressed polite people just enjoying a practice round and the whole fairway is basically a divot anyway. There are patches of grass you can move your lie to that begin to resemble a golf fairway and almost give confidence that you wont damage your expensive clubs. Having to give way to 4 cars driving on the course, dodging large sprinklers on most holes, someone walking his dogs on the course and the array of junk laying around just didnt cut it in our eyes. At least not for $40 (shared buggy and 18) There were glipses of an actual golf course as you approached the greens. Although slow, the greens were effective. If you walk 9 midweek and need to work some practice on course, it could be worth the smaller fee. Be prepared to move your ball to a grass lie on every shot though, otherwise try to find a full set of sand wedges.

I had a hit today and was surprised how demanding a test of golf this course is. I knew nothing about it. My brother in law lives nearby and asked me to play. Long holes, short holes, dog legs . The greens and surrounds where excellent. Fairways a bit scratchy but playable. Friendly staff. I'm a scratch marker from melbourne and I will be back! Marc

This Couuse is tough with the many long par 4.following. 407,360,359,357,355,377,376,370,373 Fairways condition is not so good. It's very challenging if you can bomb your drive at least 220Meters !!! to get 2 on easily, but if you poor drive forget about par you should happy with bogey instead. If you ever play at Amadale Golf course the conditions will be similar, Green good, fairways flat and not so good, not expensive.
