What a ripper of a course. Beautifully presented, with soft, lush fairways and consistent greens all around. Really enjoyed the day here, and that was even when playing some indifferent golf (a sure sign it's a good course!). Views of the Dandenong ranges throughout, and quite a lot of hills to navigate on the way around. Not a very long course, but it certainly makes you think about your tee shots, as opposed to blazing away with driver all the time. Well worth the drive from the opposite side of the City.

Played Eastwood GC as a green fee player yesterday afternoon and the course is in perfect condition! The greens are pure the fairways are like carpet offering great lies. The course has numerous dogleg holes and is very undulating in places, many of the front nine holes have water hazards that can catch the errant shot. The four Par 3 holes are very challenging being surrounded by green side bunkers. Other notable holes are the Par 5 Fifth, the Par 4 Ninth, the Par 5 thirteenth and the tight finishing Par 4 eighteenth. I dropped my Ping putter cover on the 8th hole and it was handed back to me on my way to the 10th by 'Denise' who was just one of the friendly members that we meet during our round! The members of Eastwood GC can be very proud to call this their home club ! Definitely worth playing a round or two at this beautiful location.

Nice country course in a very scenic setting. Nice fairways all round, greens and bunkers not good enough for a members course IMO. Thought the first 9 were great, lovely tree lined holes with some nice little water features has you thinking you're at Riversdale for a moment. Back nine however was a little dull for my liking, I think I was dog legged out half way through but they just keep coming. Not a marvel of a design just a good solid course - it's Yarra Bend with Santa Anna fairways if you want to compare it to something.

Eastwood’s biggest asset is its superb santa ana couch fairways, so if you’re playing well you’re being rewarded with great lies.

Aesthetically, Eastwood is very easy on the eye with the mighty Dandenong Ranges lurking spectacularly in the background on a number of holes as well as at the practice range. It could, however, present better if its bunkers were better cut and more consistently manicured.

Eastwood rates as a moderately difficult track for most golfers which makes it an excellent members’ course. It is a well established, tree-lined course with a good mix of holes (long, mid and short-length par4s, dog-legs left and right, uphill, downhill & sidehill lies)....some forgiving, others not. But like all courses you’ll need to position your ball well if you’re really going to score. The greens offer golfers a good test of skill, with some tricky sliding and downhill putts to get the heart-rate up. I’d like to see them more consistent speed-wise though (once the new greens at holes 3 & 4 settle this should help).

Importantly Eastwood membership is affordable, making golf membership a viable option even if you can only get out once a fortnight. For what you pay here, the quality of golf course is exceptional really. And hopefully getting better.

I’m not sure about the all weather comment in the write up. I played the course after two weeks without rain and it was still wet in parts. You can imagine how wet it gets with the clay base when it rains. I played it as a social visitor. It’s a ‘nice’ course. Quite short, not overly challenging, very lush and green (because it’s always wet). The greens were excellent, the hills added interest. Happy with the day but wouldn’t travel back.

This course is a nice little course with a few bunkers and it is fairly tight but forgiving the greens are very niced and hold great
