Played this course when it was really unplayable due to many inches of rain in the preceding weeks. It was a swamp & very hard to walk let alone play golf. In my madness I didn't want to give up, so got around eventually with lots of preferred lies. It is unfair to rate the course on those conditions, but I have rated it on how I think it would be when dry. Nice country sand scrape course, but nothing special.

Course has 9 brown sand scrapes with no bunkers and offers basic golf facilities. Fees are $6 Most flags are visible from the tee mound with a few gentle doglegs like the 309m slight bend right 1st/10th with natural grasses used as fairways and tree-lined fairways. Or alternatively Myrtleford also offers an 18-hole grass green course which is 35km south-east of Tarrawingee.

tarrawingee Golf Course is situated approx. 12 km,s east of Wangaratta on the Great Alpine Road.

There are nine holes with 14 tee positions.

The fairways are lush all year round with a semi automatic irrigation system. The greens are sand scrapes that are lightly sanded and most have enough slope to make you think about your line. tree lined narrow fairways will penalise a wayward shot but escape routes are there for the challenge of the smart thinking player. Green fees are very moderate $5 with an on site honesty box system.

As a foot note Tarrawingee Golf Club is the starting club of 2000 Victorian Open Champion 2000 Australian Amatuer Champion Brad Lamb.
