One of the best Country Courses that you will ever see. Fantastic greens and fairways. Great scenery. Par 72, about 6,000 metres. Ten par 4's, four par 3's and four par 5's. It has some long par fours and two interesting short par 4's. The par 3's a fairly easy as a set but still interesting. The par 5's range from easy to difficult.   Undulating fairways, no bunkers the only negative, but still a great challenge.  Welcoming members. This is hidden jewel.

Played Bright last week and for the middle of summer, the course was in really good shape.  The fairways were in excellent condition, and the greens were playing very true.

At $35, the green fees were pretty steep for what you get however.  Whilst the course was presented well, it is pretty basic, and this is about the most I've paid for a country course.

As a suggestion, I'd put in some bunkers to make it a bit more interesting.  There are some nice approaches, but apart from the pond at the front of the 9th, there is no danger at all, especially on the par 3s.  It would be right up there with the better country tracks with some well placed sand along the way.

Pros: fairways, greens, views

Cons: price (value), holes get a bit same-same after a while

Fantastic Course. Interesting layout, excellent tees and fairways, beautiful scenery and some of the best greens that l have ever seen. A memorable course in a beautiful town. Play it if you get the chance.

Bright Golf Club deserves to get an updated review! Having played this course regularly over Easter it is always in great condition! With undulating, dogleg fairways and numerous hidden water hazards Bright GC requires accuracy off the tee to give you any chance of finding greens in regulation! Most of the greens require careful reading as many are undulating and three putts can result. With no bunkers on the course many of the local trees, pines and shrubs come into play if you decide to take the driver out of the bag when the smarter play is for placement of the tee when considering your second shot into the green! All up Bright Golf Club is definitely worth playing if you are in the area!

Great country golf course. Now in fantastic condition with much improved couch fairways which have been helped by the club gaining access to recycled water. Some excellent holes, namely the 3rd, 10th and 15th. the scenery alone is worth the visit.

A pretty 18 hole course set beside the Ovens River near the town of Bright. As with many other courses this one has suffered through the drought with the main affect being to the quality of the fairways. There are some minor bare patches but nothing that can’t be overcome with use of preferred lies. In fact the course was in excellent condition when prevailing climatic conditions are considered! The greens were (and always have been) excellent.

The course is not particularly long and there are no real tough holes with only a couple of hazards dotted around the course. I don’t think there were any bunkers at all, at least I don’t remember having to use my SW out of one at any stage. It makes up for the lack of these natural defences by having plenty of dogleg holes and using the shape of the greens. Generally the greens are quite prominent in the centre and fall away to all sides making them difficult to hold with poor approaches. Best attack is coming in from on high with lofted clubs and aiming for the centre.

For a country course with fairly seasonal traffic this is an excellent course and well worth playing. I would go as far as saying that you won’t find a better course nearer this one until you reach the Murray River or Albury/Wadonga.

PS: The township of Bright is lovely too and well worth taking a break in. Try the pancakes at ‘The Cosy Kangaroo’...
