Riversdale is handily located in the suburb of Mount Waverley and easily accessible whether it is from the city (20 minutes on the freeway) or any other south eastern suburb of Melbourne. The fairways are amongst the best around with Santa Anna couch spread throughout and improved drainage means that even in the Winter the course will always be in good condition.

The dining facilities are tastefully appointed and overlook the course with large windows to help to create a sense of openness, which translates into a friendly and warm environment.

Riversdale Golf Club is also home to the Riversdale Cup, Australia’s premier amateur event, which is traditionally held each year at Riversdale over the Labour Day weekend.

Pretty golf course with some nice interesting holes.

The whole course is in really good condition, this is my 3rd time I played here and it has always been good.  There are a few thinking holes, one especially the par 5 down the hill with the drain/river just before the green.  My favourite hole is the 18th, the pin placement today was up front on the right.  Tough but I nailed it.

A beautiful course, well maintained and a great challenge for golfers of all levels. We started early on the first and the fire pit warmed us up during our wait for our tee time. A great mix of holes, and every club in the bag was in use. We found ourselves constantly calculating which club to use to take on bunkers and obstacles with good shots well rewarded with immaculate fairways and well paced greens. I would have loved a second round there after working out some of the tricks of the layout of the course, it's not just blast away and get as close to the pin as you can. There are some works taking place that will further improve the course, but we still had a fantastic day topped off with a beautiful meal in the clubhouse, and all meals were well priced and excellent value for money. Unfortunately I was only a guest, but a great club to be part of and a real pleasure to share your course for the day.

This beautiful course makes excellent use of natural elevation changes from the first to the last hole. If first impressions count for anything, the long & tree lined drive to the club house is only the beginning. The broad practice green hints to the slope, speed & turn you can expect when lining up out on the course proper. Prevailing wind has impact on this layout; you will want to be confident of the distances you carry. The clubhouse facilities are sound & the aspect from the balcony is particularly rewarding at the end of your round, especially if combined with the Crown lager on tap here. Tees, fairways & greens were all highlights of my most recent round: granted this was just ahead of the Club Championship & upcoming Riversdale Cup, but what a treat to play this course in what was surely the best condition it can be.

Interesting layout with a mixture of downhill and uphill green approaches.fairways and greens were in great condition and the pro staff and all staff actually were very friendly and accommodating. A club you would want to be a member of for sure.

I played at Riversdale yesterday in a competition against the members. My last review in April, 2010 and there was some course works with Club house refurbishments going on, so I thought I would update. I will say that one of the members I played with commented on area's I'm going to mention so this is not just my belief.... The greens were reasonably slow and there were probably 3 or 4 greens where they didn't have a good covering of grass and were quite uneven and bumpy. One example was the 10th green. Bunkers are still quite inconsistent with sand levels but I was told that the green keeper is intending to commence a program of work on the bunkers to remove the weed and grass growing into the fringes of them. The fairways were green and quite lush and the undergrowth has been recently reduced to assist in quicker play. (Reduced incidents of lost balls and delasys while searching) One interesting thing I haven't come across before was their score card. It has provision for a lotto type recording process where you put a line through the circle denoting your score and at the end of the round (members) put the card into a machine and their score is automatically recorded and displayed on a computer screen in the lounge. No need to record the details manually. This round was the first time in a while where I have played from the genuine tee ground on the par 5 13th. Definately a different hole when played from this position and which brings the bunkers in to play. The club house works have been finalised and the improvements are excellent. The view from the balcony overlooking the 18th green and the 1st tee (in the distance) makes for a pleasant time with a drink in hand. Overall this course is enjoyable to me because of the variety of holes and the lakes/creek. It can be quite exhausting, especially in summer, due to the steep hills and I would suggest anyone who struggles to walk 18 holes would be best suited to a cart.
