The popularity of the Australian Masters has made Huntingdale Golf Club one of the most well recognised Australian golf courses in the world. Long been documented as one of the best courses in Australia it is also the sandbelts youngest, established in its present location in 1941. The course greets players with long par fours, strategic fairway bunkering and large undulating greens.

This combination of features at Huntingdale ensures this course challenges the best professionals and the latest technology. The greens at Huntingdale are true and fast and are generally kept in "Masters" condition throughout the year. Players hitting wayward shots to the far side of the greens can anticipate long undulating putts. The final stretch of holes contain some of the toughest and finest finishing holes in the world.

Course layout is good and you can see why so many Masters were played here. Combination of long and short holes, straight and dogleg forcing you to play to safe areas and not pull out the driver automatically at each tee. Fairways were in great condition and the bunkers were full of sand and consistent which is always a weak point on many courses. And now the downside - the greens were very very poor. Extremely patchy with different types of grass growing on it which affected the speed and line. The day we played it was very furry and probably rolling 9 on the stimp which was disappointing. The confusing thing was the practice green was in immaculate condition so it's hard to fathom why the real greens are so different. There are public courses in Melbourne with far superior green condition so it is a shame this is happening at such a famed course.

Played this week, gee the greens were no better than an average public course. I can only guess they are over due for the bi annual coring due to the masters.

Club house lovely , practice area nice and some solid long finishing holes.

Decent course but  a bit of sameness about it.

Good course but well behind the best 5 sandbelt courses

played here 2nd feb in race to Bonville series. The course was in great shape as to be expected. I thought the bunkers needed a tidy up but not terrible. Teeing off the first straight up the hill to a high green I sense it was going to be a great day and it was. the greens where true and surrounded by bunkers ( I seen a few). The fairways where touch dry but still like carpet. The design makes you play your shot and think all the way around . I was impressed as we where travelling we had our gear with us the pro staff stored whilst we where on course . We are much appreciative and they where lovely people. So thank you for that.

Awesome golf course which makes you use all clubs in the bag. It's a course that test and challenges players of all abilities. The new clubhouse compliments the course and the members make you feel at home!

Played the course late 2013 through taylormade. Course was good but i think next door Metropolitan is in better condition and also Victoria is in front of it so far along with Heritage. Greens are lightning and scoring is tough without playing knowledge of the course. Still well worth playing just maybe not the high level it once was i'd say.

After playing Huntingdale for the 2nd time over the weekend, it now jumps into the #1 spot as personal favourites, and therefore deserving of 5 stars. I simply can't fault it, other than I can't afford to be a member there. I won't go on, but like others in the review have said,if you get a chance to play it, do not pass it up.
