COURSE DETAILS
Churchill Park Golf Club is located in Endeavour Hills, Victoria, adjacent to Churchill National Park. Our 18-hole signature west course is a par 72 that measures 6,037 metres from the championship tees. It is a beautifully designed dog-leg golf course with lush couch grass fairways. Our challenging greens and tree-lined fairways will provide a real test of your golfing ability.
We have a second course that is a shorter 9 holes, which is ideal for beginners and those that prefer a friendlier test. Many native birds and marsupials call both of our courses home and kangaroos are often in full view during daylight hours.
Playing golf at Churchill Park is an experience. Trees provide the backdrop when playing and it is from the balcony of the clubhouse that the vista of Endeavour Hills looms over the tree-line.
The clubhouse is available free of charge for all types of functions including weddings, engagements and birthdays. The golf courses and clubhouse are also available for corporate golf days. Our staff are ready, willing and more than able to see that your needs and expectations are surpassed.
Played today with a mate (I'm hcap 16, mate is about a 25).
I'm a member at Southern GC.
There wernt many playing today, no one held us up at all. It took 2 of us 4.5 hours, with a great sandwich from the shop at halfway.
Fairways.
Condition = very good, the second nine were better.
90% of them slope, and with the ground being quite hard, the ***** run a lot. That left me and my mate playing quite a lot of shots off the fairway. The rough is suitably clear, and none of lost a ball today.
Bunkers
I didnt see any fairway bunkers, and landed in only 2 greenside ones. I thought they were pretty good, not a lot of sand in them but thats how I personally prefer them. My mate on the other hand complained that there was not enough sand. Having recently played Woodlands, I think they are quite similar.
Greens
The greens are in good shape., I didnt find many pitch marks like others have mentioned. They are medium fast not as fast as say Southern or Woodlands but not slow like at other public courses. I accustomed to them quickly.
There are a few greens that are just poorly designed. i.e. there are some positions you physically cannot get the ***** to stop from, and you watch your ball either roll off the green or end up in a bunker. You need to ensure you always have an uphil putt. This makes the greens a lot less enjoyable.
I enjoyed the course, but my friend hated it. I will never be able to get him to play here again even if I paid.
Me, I would play it again, its quiet but not an easy course. It suits a player with a sub 18 handicap, and someone who is able to both draw and fade a ball to keep it on the fairways.
