The little Mallee town of Birchip, home to the legendary Red Bull, has an impressive multi-sports complex-footy,tennis,hockey,netball,bowls and golf. You wonder when the townsfolk have time for any other activity! The golf course, tho not among the Top 10 sandscrape tracks in Victoria,is a pleasure to play-easy walking, decent fairways and good scrapes. The course has 4 x par3 holes,137-204m.,11xpar 4,284-370m.,and 3xpar 5 408-520m.There are no bunkers, but on 3 holes guardian trees pr0tect the green from the approach shot unless the previous shot is correctly placed. There are 6 doglegs, mostly on the front 9. Notable holes include; 1st;dogleg right. 4th;90 degree dogleg right,OOB left flank on 2nd shot. 7th;Best of the par 3 holes, only 137m.but with trees between tee and green. 5th:almost horseshoe shape around dam with risk-reward option for those brave enough to hug the curve round the dam.
