Cowes Golf Course is split into two "nines". The outward nine holes are somewhat shorter, with many fine old eucalypts and an abundance of wildlife spread over the undulating and sandy ground. The front nine can lull a player into a false sense of security with its traditional and enjoyable layout.
One of the unique course features is a pair of par 5’s that bend almost in a semi-circle to the left. The first is No. 3, 478 metres and with a "false corner" on the drive. Only the longest hitters dare take the short cut off the tee which needs a carry of 240 metres across impenetrable ti-tree, followed by a similar second shot.
The course is eminently suitable for players of all ages ad skill levels. It is a picturesque, challenging and extremely enjoyable course.
