18 Holes
PAR 72
6003 M

Cowes Golf Course is split into two "nines". The outward nine holes are somewhat shorter, with many fine old eucalypts and an abundance of wildlife spread over the undulating and sandy ground. The front nine can lull a player into a false sense of security with its traditional and enjoyable layout.

One of the unique course features is a pair of par 5’s that bend almost in a semi-circle to the left. The first is No. 3, 478 metres and with a "false corner" on the drive. Only the longest hitters dare take the short cut off the tee which needs a carry of 240 metres across impenetrable ti-tree, followed by a similar second shot.

The course is eminently suitable for players of all ages ad skill levels. It is a picturesque, challenging and extremely enjoyable course.

Played here for the first time today. I had heard it was a good country course & I wasn't disappointed. The main features were the interesting trees, birds & dog-leg holes. The fairways were very lush for summer & greens were slow but true. The down side was that the bunkers were very random in texture. Some had sand & some didn't. Even the ones with sand, had different types of sand. A nice experience & a good test, with an ACR of 73 & slope of 125.

Hit with a mate on Sunday afternoon during the summer holidays. Expected the course to be flat out but was surprised to find it pretty quiet and no trouble getting a tee time. The course is two distinct nines with the front being a classic parkland course with tree lined fairways and some clever layouts. The fairways are wide and in good condition meaning you can attack most tee shots. Greens are smooth though many pitch marks showed a lack of regard from the players. The back nine feels a bit more coastal. A bit more open and probably a bit more wind effected. Another cool boomerang par 5 is a fun hole and some long par 4s will test out most players. Felt they could tighten up some par 4s as we hit the driver on everything but the par 3s. A great holiday course which is not too hard, but in great condition for a country course. Also saw a few wallabies on the back 9 and plenty of birdlife around. Will return.

nice course, a bit random having to cross a couple of main roads to get to the back 9, but very enjoyable. A fairly easy course as long as you stay on the fairways.

Wow what gem of a course. Played the front 9 this morning and was happy with the course & staff from word go. I rang on Friday to book and when speaking to staff I can only say that I looked forward to playing. When we arrived there were 3 other cars in the car park. I take it one was the staff members. There was a strong wind which we teed off into on the first a wide open par 4 that lulls you into a false sense of the course. The 2nd layout was just a challenge. Two large bunkers on either side of the fairway right at the area of a decent drive. A straight drive centre fairway is required. The 4 & 5th are also just well designed holes. Water on the left of both holes. The 5th being a 160m par 3 guarded by two big pots. The 7th hole is a 140m par3 with some nice big deep bunkers at the front a shot carrying these are pretty much the only way on. Overall a fantastic course would had lived to play the whole 18 however I will be back to do so

Played here last week end.Very pleasantly surprised with the condition.Rained heavily overnight & was expecting sloppy conditions. Drains extremely well. Loved the boomerang holes. Have to play for position & not just blaze away hoping. Not a lot of fairway roll.We hit off at 9.00am & had the course to ourselves. Will make this a must play when I am back the area, infact I'll go back just to be in the area for an excuse to play again.Pro shop very friendly & helpful.

Played it this weekend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The course is in good nick, lush green fairways and well kept greens. Also as others say its an enjoyable layout with plenty to stimulate the golf brain. There are a couple of elevated tees which are always fun and I really enjoyed the par 3 17th (signature hole?). All in all a great country course.
