Played here in Early September - really disappointing. Fairways were **** , temporary green on the par 3 4th that I wasn't told about when paying for the round - fairways awful, greens were okay, but I'm pretty sure they're the only part of the course being maintained to any standard. Almost no distances on sprinkler heads, 2nd hole has an astroturf teebox - good luck trying to hit an iron off the tee when the tee will only go in 1cm.
Decent course but the service is appalling. Upon my visit I was yelled
at by a staff member who created quite a scene in front of onlookers –
I have been playing at this course for the last 2 years. It has
amazed me how a course playing so short can challenge you in so
many ways. forget the driver the best rounds are played with
placement and accuracy. The place has transformed and now offers
an amazing 19th hole! In the middle of suburbia the challenge of
a 9 hole golf course is found. Has pulled up excellently from a
harsh summer with the greenest of fairways and not a drop of
water used on them. a recent resurface resurected the course.
A nice course which can be busy after work hours during the week
It's easy on right handed slicers due to the way the course
runs and has several nice par 3's including the 4th which has
an elevated tee and the river at the rear of the Green and
although short is quite difficult hitting the mark. The 9th which
has a beautiful green is protected by a killer bunker on the
right and bunkers on the left.
Nick place for a drink afterwards.
Set on the Marybrnong River, this little 9 hole cousre is a
pleasure to play. Not overly challenging as there are bunkers on
only two holes and you needn't worry about any water hazards
unless you play a really poor stroke. However, having said that,
you still have to be cautious of your strokes as some carless
shots can find you paying dearly. There are some nice little par
three's throughout the course but the long 5th bends around
to the right and continues to give me frustration as I often have
to lay up. If I get par on this hole I am satisfied with my whole
The clubhouse is currently under extension, but this is hardly a
concern for guests as the staff are friendly and it is not a bad
10th or 19th hole for a beer.
Course is not overly technical and is not a bad course with a
good mix of par 3 and 4 for a 9 hole course.
However, why would you bother playing a gentlemens game when the
-lacks customer service from the young staff
-lacks etiquette from the public and the members
-lacks any sort of consideration from players e.g. divots not
replaced or filled, greens torn up in anger, bunkers not raked
after play, etc, etc.
-other players picking up and playing with your ball
-locals walking their dogs and feeding pigeons (yes pigeons!)
As it is located in the western suburbs, it generally attracts
people who goes out for a hit, not to play the game in all
it's beauty. Needless to say, I too am a young western
suburbs boy but golf rules and etiquettes should always be
