I played here on 17/10/2016. The fairways were in fantastic condition. I played on a Monday and there weren't many people out there. I could imagine the course being really busy on the weekends though with the amount of deals available online.

I see other reviewers made negative comments regarding condition. Maybe this course isn't great during extreme weather periods. Overall the condition was really good when I played. My two main negatives were that the greens were a touch on the slow and shaggy side and the sand in the bunkers is fairly thin and inconsistent, but you can deal with it.

I thought it was a fantastic layout and I enjoyed every minute of it. A championship length course that punishes inaccurate shots. Some good views of the city and I didn't mind the cars whizzing by on the freeway near some of the holes.

For the price ($25 midweek walking), it is one of the best value golf courses in the West. Come to think of it, it is one of the best golf courses in the West full stop.

Falling apart - despite a great footprint and well considered layout that can be challenging at times, particularly when hidden bunkers and water come into play. We played Sunday with what must have been 100+ other public players all on shotgun starts - it was mayhem and took us 5 hours to get around, at least two of which were spent waiting. 5 yrs back when I first played this place it had so much promise - unfortunately the location (an industrial park by a freeway) and drought conditions have just hammered it. Half the plantings are dead and the fairways and rough are in dire condition. Course doesn't stand a chance of repairing either when you have everybody hooning about in damp conditions on carts - it looked like an off-road go-kart track. Good layout & greens just doesn't balance out the appallingly slow pace of play and apocalyptic course condition. A real shame

Played this course today in mild conditions. The fairways and greens were in good condition, but beware if you deviate off them. The immediate fringe is very long but quickly falls away to very sparse cover of grass, with lots of bare dirt and rocks. There were a lot of hidden bunkers and water hazards that came into play and turned some good shots into disaster. A map of the course would alleviate the nasty surprises for the newcomer.

Excellent club house and factilities and very friendly staff on site.  It's really good value for money in an area where it's hard to find good quality courses available to the public.

The tee boxes were all flat, the Santa Ana fairways were in excellent condition and barely had a divot out of them, and the greens were in very good condition - they are quick enough and plenty of undulations making few easy putts.

We were very impressed with all aspects of the course outside the bunkers, didn't have to play out of one but they looked in terrible condition.

It is a very open course, tricky when the wind is up, and it has the feel of a links course to me, though I don't think it is supposed to.

Water comes into play on many holes, and it is a great test for golfers of all levels.  The trees seem to be taking a long time to grow and will help take the course to the next level once they do.  Will definitely be back again.

I played this course on Christmas Eve 2015 (stinking hot day), and I must say I agree with the previous poster SHANKTACULAR, the course layout itself is actually quite good but the course condition could be better - most fairways were almost bone dry however they were still playable.

It is not overly long but it certainly is not an up and down course, it does offer some good challenges for golfers of all levels.  I played at the original course about 11 years ago but this was a huge improvement.

  • A very good layout with a variety of flat/hilly holes
  • Friendly staff
  • Nice clubhouse
  • The bunkers were in good nick, though I had a rare round where I only found myself in them twice :)

  • Fairways conditions could be better but that may be seasonal
  • Slow play - it took just under three hours to play 9 holes
  • Could probably do with some more bunkers around the holes

Despite the faults, as a mid twenties handicapper (and living reasonably close) I really enjoyed the course and I will certainly return here for another round. However, it would more than likely be a midweek game during early Autumn/ late Spring when there is a little less traffic.
