Played here today for the first time. A great little course in pleasant surroundings & very quiet, even though not far from the city. It is a par 58, which is the lowest par course I have ever played but it is still a good test. I concur with the last few player reviews, so I won't repeat all of that again. Good fun 9 holer!

Last bloke is right, never have I played a harder 1st hole than this one. 330m or whatever it is, double dog leg where you basically have to hit a club 165m twice, or hit something slightly longer and be absolutely dead if you're not dead against the right side of the fairway. You make par here, you're a genius. Cheap, but pleasantly surprised by the state of the greens which were definitely puttable. Par 3s vary in length and difficulty, from SW to 5-iron dependent on wind. Would be an ideal course to play a few times to sharpen your short game before taking on a bigger track, or for beginners/anyone else looking for a bit of a hit and a laugh. Perfect for kids too. Only downside, the coffee in the pro shop is the worst I've had in my 30 years. Avoid. But the course is absolutely worth a look.

As previous reviews have testified this is a course to test your accuracy not your power. The 1st is arguably the toughest opening hole I know. The greens are small and errant shots will cost you. This is a great course for developing youngsters or those who are losing a bit of length due to advancing years. There is a members club that tees off early Saturdays with a lovely welcoming atmosphere, that comes from having a smaller community feel to it. I chose to join recently, as footy has left my body unable to enjoy more strenuous courses or more expensive clubs. A choice I am very pleased with. For a public course it is well grassed and manicured, even after recent heavy rains. Recommend you give it a try as I did.

This is easily the best fun little course in Melbourne and EXTREMELY testing, not to mention great value at about $16.50 for 18 holes. Due to the tight fairways it is the perfect place to work on the accuracy of your game. The first hole is one of the harder par 4s I've ever played due to the creek on the right and rising hill and thick rough on the left. The staff are fantastic and extremely polite and helpful (unlike so many other inner city courses). If you're looking for a course to test your accuracy, this is definitely the place. Measures 1436m Par 29 with seven par 3s ranging from 97-174m and two par 4s ranging from 246-321m. Fairways are lush, greens are flat, small and a little slow and teebeds are flat and lush. Accuracy is paramount here. Highlights include the 321m 1st (rated the most difficult) has its fairway curving with Scotchmans Creek on the right to a hidden bunkerless green from the tee, and a grassy bank and homes on the left. The 246m 6th (rated the second-most difficult) has a narrow driving holes with Scotchmans Creek on the left with a greenside bunker on the right. The par 3s are short with most having one bunker. They are a little disappointing. The best (and longest) par 3 is probably the 174m 9th with bunker left. Played here 9/11/2010 and paid $11.70 green fees. Not too bad for an hours hit.
