Melbourne South East
Kingston Links Golf Club
18 Holes
PAR 72

Still regarded as the number one public access course in metropolitan Melbourne, Kingston Links maintains its reputation as an enjoyable course for golfers of all standards.Located just twenty minutes from the heart of the city via the Monash Freeway, Kingston Links is easily accessible and provides a complete golfing experience. There are very few golf courses that offer a dedicated driving range and course at the same location. The 275 acre site of undulating fairways of 100% Santa Ana couch grass and pure bentgrass greens are maintained to the highest standards for year round play. This prestigious 6178 metre, par 72 championship layout was influenced by the great links course of Scotland and Ireland.A mixture of rolling mounds and natural waterways combined with panoramic views over the Dandenong Ranges makes for an interesting and picturesque golf experience. There is a separate undercover flood lit driving range which is open day and night. With 40 bays available, it is the perfect spot to warm up pre-game. There is a designated practice area for short game, bunker play and putting. Full-time teaching professionals are also available seven days a week.

Played there yesterday. This used to be the leading public access course in Melbourne. It still has a wonderful layout but GSM have withdrawn from the contract & it will close permanently on 30/6/18.FWIW the fairways & greens are still pretty good. The bunkers have not been refilled with sand for some years & are a sad mess.If you can play it cheap you should do so before it becomes housing

Playing in winter is always difficult in Rowville.  Those familiar with this area know Kingston and Links are foreign to it, so I did not expect miracles.  However, there were some glaring things that really disappointed.  Winter is wet on these clay soils.  Carts were not restricted and have absolutely wrecked the fairways.  The course was extremely wet, and should have been lift, clean and place, but was not.  Bunkers were not raked at all, particularly fairway bunkers.  There were no GUR areas, and with your ball always ending up at the lowest point, it was often rolled mud at best, and at worst was unplayable mud, often with cart tracks.  At $55 you should expect this course to be well looked after within reasonable means, and it just is not.  It was very windy, but I actually like the layout, it certainly has potential.  Water is in play in many holes, and the greens, whilst very wet and soft I think could be very good.  The description said "Santa Ana Couch Grass", which it certainly is not.  These sites need to update more regularly as peoples time is precious.

Hadn't played there for about 5 years so I thought I'd give it another go. At $38 for an after 4pm tee time what a waste of money, this course used to be pristine it's like they just let it go downhill, fairways are in poor patchy condition, the rough was better to hit off, the place is full of ducks and duck s**t everywhere and the tee boxes were in the most atrocious condition i'd ever seen, inconsiderate group behind me with no idea of patience, sorry you won't see me here again it's a shame, what used to be a really excellent public track is now a rundown cow patch full of duck sh*t.

Played this course mid week and found the course challenging with bunkers and water well placed. Greens and fairway we're in excellent condition considering the amount of traffic the course must get being a public golf course. Reasonable green fees @ $35. Staff were freindly and happy to help outDefinitely looking forward to playing this course again next time im in Melbourne.

Been playing at Kingston Links for a couple of months now and I have to say that I am really shocked about some of the reviews on here. "Tweety's" review in particular! Considering the weather we have had lately the course is in fantastic condition! yeah the greens aren't perfect with a few pitch marks, but that isnt the courses fault.. Its the idiots in front who have no understanding of golf etiquette! The staff are fantastic, i'm always greeted with a big smile and treated with respect! Great value for money at $28 after 12 midweek and only $50 on weekends before 12.

Don't waste your time or money playing here, the course is going downhill in a big way. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's the course was immaculate and well worth the money to play there, now there isn't anything to say that's good about the course. Unplayable in winter due to poor drainage and the fairwarys not been scarified for many years, bunkers are like a bog with heavy sand, weeds all over the fairways, pitch marks all over the greens, staff don't care and have no customer service skills. If you wan't tp lay in the area go and play Waterford Valley, much better course in great condition for the same price.
