Played here for the first time yesterday. A nice surprise, for a short 9 holer, in the middle of suburbia. You can play it twice from mainly different tees, to have an 18 holer. It is only a par 68 (no par 5's) and the ACR is only 63.5 but it still a good challenge & good fun. Fairways can be a bit patchy but the greens are faster than expected & consistent. There are a few bunkers, with good sand in them.  A couple of holes 2nd & 8th have interestingly featured gum trees in the middle of fairways to keep you thinking. Worth a try, if you need something different & a bit of practice or a social round with some friends.

It's not Royal Melbourne but a lovely quiet course unknown by most, situated north of LaTrobe Uni.grounds. Small challenging greens, fairways reasonably grassed at this time of year. If you want to improve your golf, practice where ever and this course is great if you live in the area.

Played on Sunday 25th Sept. Lived in the general area of this course my whole life and never played it, even though I've been meaning to. What a nice little course. Its fairly short and flat. Its not particularly difficult if you're hitting straight, but can cause a few headaches if you're a bit wayward. The greens are small and most holes have some pretty cleverly located green side bunkers that catch anything stray. Also some nice old trees in places that really make you think about your shots. 2nd hole was a personal favourite of mine. A fairly straight forward par 3 of about 120ish meters, except for the tree about 90meters from the tee guarding the tiny green. Definitely made me think. It was very quiet when I played which seemed odd as other courses in the area were packed. Course condition was pretty good. Greens are small but were in very good nick. Fairways were good and bunkers were pretty good for a public track. Lots of non-golfers just walking around the course which was odd $20 for all you can play seemed a good deal. A bit steep for 9 holes, but not bad if you played 18 or more holes. Would play it again for sure. Its not the best course in the area but for what it is, it's a nice 9 holer. If you're looking for place to get through a quick 9 holes I think you could do a lot worse than here.

Measures 2545m Par 34 with two par 3s ranging from 122-130m and seven par 4s ranging from 280-428m. There are a few doglegs, fairways crests and a couple of hills. Course has a few temporary tees in place for the re-laying of the 1st, 4th and 6th fairways. Overall fairways were a little bare and muddy in areas. Teebeds are bumpy and patchy in areas and the small greens are very slow. There are 16 bunkers on the course. Best holes are probably the long 428m par 4 4th which plays uphill over a crest in the fairway to a bunkerless green. The 358m slight dogleg left 9th with its wide fairway plays slightly downhill to a green guarded by 2 bunkers. Played here 14/11/2010 with green fees currently $20. Course conditioning is a let down here. Greens are very slow and fairways are a little bare. Good for the beginners but the more frequent golfers could give it a skip.

Its not the greatest place to play in the world, but it is kept well and I see it as a great place to LEARN the game, great for junior players and hacks like myself who need an easy round from time to time

Strathallan Golf Course is a nice and simple course. Cheap green fees and relatively simple holes it is a great course to learn the game, but is also a great course to fine tune your game and the perfect place to go for a social hit on a Saturday or Sunday Afternoon.

The upkeep of the course is always up to standard. It really is a great course.
