How is this course not in the top 20 in the country? My new favourite course. Wonderful use of the coastal dunes. I'm glad I wasn't in a comp because I wouldn't have been able to stand on the 12th tee for 15 minutes watching the surfers on their longboards with the Port Fairy lighthouse in the background. But the golf course stands on it's own anyway with plenty of risk and reward and a wonderful use of the changes in elevation. The par 5 fifth meanders up into the side of the dunes, the 7th and 10th cling to the side of the dunes with a tee shot too far right disappearing off the planet and you want to drive the 13th par 4 but should you? My favourite hole was the long par 4 14th with the huge sand dune to the right of the fairway and my second shot soaring into the southern ocean for what seemed an eternity before falling onto the green below.

Played at PFGC at the Easter weekend. What a great course with holes 12, 14, 15 and 16 amongst some of the best you'll see anywhere. A true test in the wind would be very easy without it. Just good luck finding a still day. If you are in the area you could do a lot worse.

Played on a recent trip to Warrnambool and know why it is rated in the top 100 courses. All I can say is wow what a spectacular course the views are amazing and what you see from the road is only part of the story. Was lucky enough to play on a beautiful day with little to no wind, would be very difficult/challenging on a windy day. Would recommend to anyone if they have the opportunity to play.

Played there in May and this course is an absolute gem. I played on a day with no wind and scored well, but can imagine how difficult it would be when it is blowy. It is a true links course with plenty of variation between holes. It is fairly open, but you don't want to end up in the deep rough, you will struggle to get out. It is well conditioned with greens that are really quick. The back 9 is the best half with many overlooking the ocean, it is a spectacular view. The price is reasonable and the members and staff are helpful and friendly. Well worth the effort to play at this course.

Played Port Fairy on 15/01/12 and enjoyed my round but expected a little more from the #60 ranked course in Golf Digest's 2010 Top 100 Courses in Australia. Some great views and great holes (those closest to the water) but the inland holes are a little bland. Definitely worth playing but I think with a solid ranking I went in there with high expectations considering courses below it (ie. Riversdale, Noosa Springs).

I played Port Fairy on 22/12/2011 and the course was in fabulous condition. A total joy to play, and the service and friendliness of the Pros and staff was very welcome. Hitting off at 8.30am I almost had the course to myself. Simply magic! This course plays tough when the wind blows. For anyone who enjoys links golf Port Fairy is an absolute must play! It's well worth the drive, and the location is quite stunning. A very picturesque and enjoyable golf course.
