Charlton, founded 1896,is among the oldest clubs with a continuing commitment to sand scrapes and was a founder member of the VGA.The present course is as described by Qtip. Its design,3 loops of 6 holes each inc.a par3,apar5,and 4xpar4,could be an answer for the time strapped gens x and y. The course is predominantly flat, set in a natural bushland with most holes totally secluded,no water hazards but 5 bunkers around the par 3 holes. There are 7 doglegs, most notably the 9th which turns sharply left and the 10th nearly U shaped. The best holes are; 2nd;161m. rising gentlt over a central fairway a scrape surrounded by 3 bunkers. 6th;465m.dogleg right @ 250m. 10th;437m.dogleg left. A pleasant, relaxing round of golf-away from any hustle or hassle.
