Played this course today in the middle of Sping when a country course would be at it’s best. This is probably one of the worst sand scrape courses I have played. It all started badly when on arrival there were no instructions on how much to pay or how to use the usual honesty box system, with no signs, no envelopes, no receipt book & worst of all no scorecards. I always try to support these sorts of struggling clubs, but they didn’t want to help themselves. The fairways either had lumps of thick grass where you can lose your ball or no grass at all. While I’m at it, I knew before I got there that previous reviewers where joking with there 5 star reviews, but it really does stuff up the overall rating of these clubs for those who trust it. Nice one boys!

Course has 9 black soil scrapes with fairly straight holes and no bunkers. Barely basic golf facilities here with $5 fees. Course access is from the recreation reserve about 1.5km south of the town centre intersection at the Pyrenees Hotel. Town and course elevation ranges from approximately 320-340m above sea level. Lexton is a town in the Pyrenees Shire of around 150 people and is home to the historic Pyrenees Hotel which was built in 1845 in the height of the goldrush days. Closest grass green courses are the 18-hole layouts in Beaufort and Maryborough.
