Time for an updateBeaufort now measures 5435m Par 70 with six par 3s ranging from 145-176m, eight par 4s ranging from 267-415m and four short par 5s ranging from 436-454m. Course has a mixture of creeping Victorian bent grass fairways with a mixture of common couch and clover grass fairways and teebeds amongst the sparsely tree-lined fairway layout. The teebeds consist of cool/warm season rye grass. There are 10m long x 10m wide small-sized bent & poa grass greens which play mostly slow. In terms of hazards, there are only 5 bunkered holes (at 4, 5, 8, 15 & 17) with a total of 7 bunkers on the course. There are 6 ponds with numerous red-staked ponds and storage dam along the 2nd and 3rd holes. Holes worthy of mention include: the 454m straight 4th (index 5) with a slight fairway bend right with OOB fence along the entire leftside to a green with 2 bunkers; the 145m 7th (index 12) with a teeshot over a gully; the 334m slight bend right 12th (index 6) with OOB homes far right to a bunkerless green with a red-staked pond from 80m out to 10m short left of the front edge of the green in the left rough; and the 360m 15th (index 2) with a slightly elevated tee above the fairway which doglegs gently to the left with a tree-lined fairway to the 15m long x 8m wide green which is guarded by 2 bunkers. There is a strange ruling when playing the 4th hole which protects players coming up the 5th that says: "A ball played beyond line of white pegs must be dropped within 2 clubs on the 4th fairway side of the pegs" The par 3s (at 1, 7, 9, 10, 13 & 18) have a similarity to them with 1 & 10 both playing slightly downhill to the green and 9 & 18 similar to each other with adjacent tee mounds to a green slightly above the tee. None of the Par 3s are bunkered. The par 5s (at 4, 5, 14 & 17) play mostly straight with the greens obscured from view off the tee with all but the 14th being bunkered. The Par 5s are mostly short and weak but the pick of the Par 5s is the bunkering around the 4th green. Course elevation ranges from approximately 390m above sea level along the 12th fairway to approximately 420m above sea level along the 4th fairway. No mains water is used to irrigate the course and bowling greens, as the club relies on stormwater run-off to the storage dams along the 2nd & 3rd fairways for irrigation. Played here 21/10/2012 with $15 green fees 7 days a week. Course access is from Park Road about 1km south of the A8/C172 traffic light. Beaufort has around 1000 people and there is no proshop.

Nice course, but nothing special. Short course that requires good iron play as well as having small greens. If you are in the area have a whack around the course but I wouldn't travel a great distance to play here

Beaufort is a well maintained course. It has a balanced mix of open and intimate holes. Green fee players are welcome, (not shown on your comments) a good stop-over on the way to Grampians and Adelaide.

Beaufort is a short but demanding course that relies heavily on solid iron play to small greens to score well. Well maintained and friendly club, where you will always be able to get a game.
