Played at this course over a week during Xmas/New Year break. I thought that earlier reviews posted on this site were a bit tough. Yes it's not Royal Melbourne (although the tea-tree on the front nine is as dense as anywhere)but it's a decent country/seaside course. Third hole provides views of ocean and some other holes also offer ocean 'glimpses'. Course is long enough to provide you with the opportunity to hit most clubs in your bag. The front and back nines are quite different. The front nine, which is the better of the two nines, is a sea-side style layout with fairways lined with tea-tree. with bentgrass greens. Holes on the back nine are lined with gums and bush and have very coarse couch greens. Fairways were in pretty good condition although some fairways on the back were a bit rough. Nice clubhouse and very friendly members - and it was never difficult to get on even over Xmas.

Measures 5779m Par 72 with three par 3s ranging from 135-168m, twelve par 4s ranging from 242-401m and three par 5s ranging from 425-475m. As the eastern-most golf course in Victoria located on the beautiful coastline, the golf course has no full-time curator and has to be run by its members/volunteers. Its a shame because this course has the potential to become a great links course. The ocean can be heard (but not seen as the trees block the views) from the front nine. The course is very disappointing and lacks a challenge. The front nine greens had been spinkled by loose stones and pebbles, I guess as part of green coring. Greens were excruciatingly slow and bumpy. Back nine is characterised by small trees lining both sides of the fairway with small bunkerless greens. There are slight doglegs and 11th, 12th and 15th are short 242-252m par 4s. The par 5s are very weak and short. There are lots of kangaroo droppings to hit around/over. The best hole is probably the 345m 5th with the only bunker on the course guarding the rightside green. I agree with the previous reviewer and having played here 13/08/2010 I would never return. Probably good for the beginner though. If you are staying in town or nearby I recommend Eden or Orbost.

Certainly not a course to go out of your way to play.

Generally flat and uninspiring. A couple of holes require a bit of thought as to club selection off the tee, but most are simply driver then next club.

Many of the fairways are also lined by trees on both sides, especially on the front nine near the greens, so there is no choice about where to hit. Those trees also block out perfectly any opportunity of seeing the ocean which you can hear quite clearly (it is a seaside course).

Having said all that, the course is in good enough condition, and the greens are well maintained.

Eden is less than an hour north and much better value for around the same price.
