Played on Sunday with local members. It is a superb course with great members. You need to concentrate every stroke - it will not yield smallest put. Luckily the members were very kind in letting us know the traps. The pro shop was very welcoming and helpful. Our holiday's major attraction and will be part of future trips to Tasmania.

i really enjoy playing at RHGC. unpretentious and welcoming club with a terrific course which would rate much higher if on the mainland, particularly given its always outstanding conditioning. it's a slightly old fashioned design, but it remains very relevant despite technology due to well placed greenside bunkering and lush, run impeding fairways. a really enjoyable golf course - the back 9 is particularly strong. Strongly encourage anyone going to Hobart to pack the clubs. RHGC and Tasmania would make a strong start to any south to north tasmanian golf trip finishing in Bridport. highly recommended.

Played March 2010 on a picture-perfect day early in the morning. The practice facilities are fantastic - 2 full-size driving ranges, chipping, bunkers, putting. All really good stuff. The course is flat and no water in play. Almost no elevation change to get you calculating - all shots play true distance. Good variety of clubs required for 2nd shots and plenty of length to make you work hard. Very nicely presented and it is worthy of the "Royal" tag. Not overly expensive and therefore well worth a visit.

Played 28 Dec 2010 and had a fantastic day. Was tossing up between RHCC and Tasmania, happy to choose RHCC in the end. A number of bunkers were still out of play due to a massive dump of rain the previous week. Fairways and greens in super condition - the greenest i have seen, particularly the fairways which were lush. An interesting layout and an easy walk. Highly recommend a visit, the club was very hospitable. Having visited Tasmania it clearly has the benefit of a nice outlook over the water but it looks a hard walk and in nowhere near the lush condition of RHCC

Played December 5 2009. Its a nice course with some interesting Par 4's and I could see that it could have some appeal played regularly. The day we played it though pretty much all the bunkers were out of play (water filled) and some fairways were waterlogged. Its pretty straight and is flat, a nice day out but nothing special. Half as interesting as Tasmania.

great course in great condition, some of the bunkers seemed to be mug catchers only. Lovely fairways, greens were the best in the state. Play here first when in hobart, dont listen to people saying tasmania is better, its not unless you like dead fairways and prefered lies, I was extatic i played here the day after Tas. 2nd best course in tasmania behing barnbougle.Excellent
