Built between 1828 and 1838, Quamby was the home of Sir Richard Dry, for several years Premier of Tasmania. Nowadays Quamby is a magnificent golf and country club. The clubs championship 18 hole golf course has been expertly fashioned by designer Peter Toogood MBE, into the existing gently undulating landscape amongst the grandeur of the 150 year old deciduous trees and hedges.

Quamby Golf and Country Club features many other facilities including a tennis court, full sized billiard table, The Office club, bar and eating facility, and accommodation in the estates historic homestead.

A great golf experience however is now a 9 hole course that could be classed as one of the best courses in Tasmania. Unfortunately no club house available as at 24/3/2016 a bit disappointing for a course of this caliber

Played here 29th December 2014. The course is actually 9 holes with multiple tees (White and Blue) that make each hole slightly different when playing the second time. The fairways are in very good condition, nicely designed holes with a mix of mature trees lining fairways that originally were borders of paddocks and newly planted trees to promote the outline of the course. I played in a very stiff cross wind which made keeping the ball on line very difficult, but the course was a nice little layout that is worth the green fee of $25 for 9 holes. Has a very long par 5 at 576m, and some nice par 3's and 4's. A bit of hidden water behind the 6th green. Greens were a bit slow and wet but well maintained. Interesting opium crop across the road!
