Established in 1909 in the picturesque seaside town of Stanley, Stanley Golf Club features a challenging 9 hole course with tree and coastal grass lined fairways, bunker and a sand dam.
It is a typical UK links style course with well-maintained fairways and greens.
The opening par 5 hole sets you up to keep it straight as on the right it’s out of bounds into farming pasture.
The remainder of the course consists of four par 4’s and four par 3’s each with its own name character.
Thereafter don’t be lulled into a false sense of security as you must keep your concentration to move the ball left and right to avoid the thick coastal grass edges known locally as marram grass.
The maritime winds cause havoc from time to time.
