Boasting spectacular holes that wind along the coast, adjacent to the Forester River and inland towards the Tasmanian hinterland, Barnbougle Lost Farm is a breathtaking golf course, dramatically different yet complementary to both the surrounding landscape and the Barnbougle Dunes.

Almost impossible to fault this place. Clever design on brilliant land. Has a number of short par-4s which could be the most fun holes in golf.

Played here 3x in 5 days. Beautiful looking course, fairly flat compared to Barnbougle Dunes. Played as a longer course than Dunes I found. I do prefer Dunes as a course though.

Memorable holes for mine were - 4th Par 3, 5th Par 4, 8th Par 5, 11th Par 4, 13th Par 4.

Barnbougle is a stern test of golf. It will test you physically and mentally. Good shots may not always be rewarded, and poor shots will invariably be punished severely. The course itself is immaculately presented, Old Tom Morris would swoon at the handiwork. Treacherous undulations are to be found on fairways and greens, yet they can be managed if you're canny enough. Enough bunkers to have you cursing, yet not so many as to make the course unfair. When the wind is up, the course turns into a growling monster, long walks uphill and down dale, it's a links course you'll never forget, just go and do it. Take the time to wander around the little golf museum, plus there's a 'vintage' club-maker who makes replicas to die for.

Played 3rd January 2015. Links course with wider and less undulating fairways that the Dunes course, but many tee shots where the whole fairway is not in view and obscured by rough covered dunes or prominent bunkers that draw your attention. Consult the course guide - usually a pleasant surprise when you get to the ball after hitting a straight drive over rough. The course feels long on many of the pa4 4's and all of the par 5's from the black tees. The standout feature is the 20 hole layout with 6 par 3's. The 155m 6th is the best of these with a narrow green protected behind a large bunker. The rough is a guaranteed lost ball.
