The Transport Golf Club was formed in 1976 by a group of Highways Department employees who were interested in the game of golf and promoting it throughout the department.

These employees were Ken Whitters, Rod Foremen, Tony Fagg and Tony Kilvington.

Transport Golf Club was formerly known as Highways Department Golf Club and Department of Road Transport Golf Club.
