Time for an updateRegency Park now measures 2828m Par 35 with three par 3s ranging from 124-166m, four par 4s ranging from 341-404m and two par 5s both at 467m in length. There are 18 alternate teebeds to play 18 holes here, but these areas are not far from the front nine markers and do not change the par of the hole. The course has 9 medium-large sized bent/poa grass greens mostly 20-30m long with kikuyu grass around its green surrounds. The course has fairly lush kikuyu grass teebeds and fairways. There new holes at 6-9 have Santa Ana couch grass teebeds. In terms of hazards, apart from the 341m 1st all holes are bunkered with a total of 17 bunkers on the course. The course also has 1 stormwater pond at the rear of the 6th green. 1st-341m / 10th-373m has a slight fairway bend to the right to a bunkerless green. 2nd-124m / 11th-101m to a green which slopes right and is slightly above the tee with a bunker short. 3rd-467m / 12th-498m has a slight fairway bend to the left to a green with 2 bunkers. 4th-404m Par 4/ 13th-329m Par 4 has a slight fairway bend to the right to a 2-tier front-sloping 20m long green with a bunker short left. 5th-152m / 14th-175m to a 30m wide green which is slightly above the tee and a bunker over the back of the green. 6th-467m Par 5 / 15th-433m Par 5 is probably of the better holes on the course which is played fairly straight off the tee with a fairway bunker right 220m off the tee to a 30m wide green with a ridge across the middle of it and is guarded by a bunker short right and another 40m short left with a red-stake stormwater pond and garden along the right edge of the green and 5m over the back of the green. 7th-345m / 16th -376m is a straight hole with South Road (and high mesh fence) on the left with 2 fairway bunkers left 180 & 200m off the tee to a 25m long 2-tier front-sloping green which is guarded by 2 leftside bunkers. The pick of the par 4 holes. 8th-166m / 17th-133m to a 25m long 2-tier front-sloping green which is guarded by a bunker right and another 30m short left. 9th-362m / 18th-374m is played with a gentle fairway bend to the right to a green with 3 bunkers short and right. The short tree-lined parkland-styled layout has improved with the addition of the new holes at 6 & 7. Generally, not overly challenging layout with fairway bunkers more in play for the shorter hitters. Played here 6th October 2012 with $14 weekday green fees, $15 weekend green fees or $10 after 3pm twilight green fees. Course access is from Days Road. The course conditioning here is quite good and I'd recommend a round here which is one of the better 9-holers in Adelaide.

Since the partial upgrade to this course, there have been many changes and improvements, and I'm pretty impressed with the result. The quality of the greens have quite definitely improved on most holes (the green on 1st is incredibly soft, with a really muddy GUR area right in front of it), with the 6th/15th and the 8th/17th seeing huge improvements. Difficulty level has increased slightly (I think) with the upgraded greens and added bunkers, and has made playing a round at Regency all the more enjoyable. It's currently at 68 ACR, so advanced players will find this place a toddle. Standing on the 6th/15th green, you also get a pretty impressive view of the Superway that is under construction not 100m away. To protect passing traffic from the course, the fence has also been upgraded to a massive black net that is about 7 or 8 metres high, and stretches the length of one whole side of the course. It's a huge improvement over the last fenceline, which was tired and shoddy. The staff at the course are great, and the prices are very reasonable. To pay $10 in the afternoon (after 3pm I think) for 9 holes is a bargain. The atmosphere is always convivial, and except for one incident where some random local bastard took a crap in the 8th hole, there aren't too many twats. If you haven't checked out this course since the upgrade, I strongly recommend you book in a round before the Superway is completed. I suspect it will be pretty noisy after that (Dec 2013).

A well established golf course and soon to be even better with a few holes revamped thanks to the south rd upgrade. Will still be par 35 for 9 holes but the new holes consisting of a new par 5, par 4 and par 3 will be quite challenging. I expect that when the course re-opens for all holes in approx early oct 2011, many will be inclined to check it out. From what I have seen I don't think that anyone will be dissapointed in the re-design with stratigically placed fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers to mezmirising greens. A credit to all involved.
