Played this course for the first time on 8/8/16. It was fantastic, with fairways in good condition & a great tropical feel about the course. A good test of golf, with great rewards for good golf & it will eat you up with a bad shot. (I suppose that can be true of a lot of courses). I have played 211 courses and rate this at no 32 on my list. It would have been a lot higher if the greens were in better condition. Very surprising for a course of this quality.

Played this awesome course about 8 times while up in this beautiful part of the world and loved it only fault with the course was the greens were a bit of a let down not not terrible unlike the pro shop staff who I found painfully rude especially the bearded pro and his curly haired dad rude is actually an understatement they make you feel shit and when they shouted at my 7 year old daughter and reduced her to years I felt like knocking him out would have spent money on logo caps and clothing but they can sing for my money really don't want to put a downer on the course but they ruined my experience maybe the pro needs to come out the closet he might find life a bit more relaxed and by the looks of it so will his dad! Very nice course in a beautiful part of the world. Quite challenging but not impossible by any means. Some very well placed creeks that make you think about your shot. Staff are quite rude though and struggle to manage a smile or even any form of greeting. You'd think you'd be happy working in that part of the world but some people are just miserable no matter what.

Wow, what can I say. This course is the best I have seen in years. I travel up this way on business and play here to break the monotony of the drive. The greens are very consistent and the fairways were immaculate. The greens keeper should be paid more to do the job he does. Will definitely come back for sure.

The layout here is strong especially from the tips and has always been a favourite of mine in this part of the world. Conditioning of the greens can be inconsistent (money?) however when you have so many great holes, wherever it's rated in Australia, it should be much higher. 1) - Paradise Palms 2) - Sea Temple Port Douglas 3) - Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas (it's coming back). Bring your camera, sunscreen and cheque book!

Played October. This is the first course I've played in FNQ so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect compared to Mornington Peninsula courses. Overall I am quite impressed. The layout has great variety. You can face trouble right, left and even centre on some holes. This is where my first issue arises. No distance markers (other than the standard 100m, 150m & 200m) means for the visiting golfer getting club selection right is difficult. Thankfully I was there for extreme leisure so coming up short on a few holes didn't bother me whereas some may find it annoying. It's also a shame I couldn't play it at its peak with the greens just been sanded. Many greens look like they could provide a challenge but in the state they were in, a mallet would've been just as effective. The fairways were in reasonable condition with good lies throughout. Go off the fairway and it can get extremely thick being virtually rainforest so hit a provisional if you see your ball go in. I lost a couple of balls in what i would consider easily reachable areas. Visually it's a great course. It's at the base of rainforest covered mountains so being from the south I got my kicks playing amongst rainforest and even mango trees. Together with a great layout and grand clubhouse makes for a great outing. Staff were helpful too. I would definitely recommend coming here to play although a little on the expensive side however i have no comparison for any other courses nearby.
