Have played a here a few times over the past two years.

The Greens have had their ups and downs, but in the last 6 months they have come good and improved dramatically.

A few too many leaves along the side of the 16th fairway, but I shouldn't be in the trees in the first place!

The most challenging part of the course is the outer course as you have the trees to negotiate, but inside the racetrack has its own challenges.

Lovely view of the pyramid, and of course the rainbows are always around the corner.

Played here on the 14th of May and must say loved the course. For the money they have the course is fantastic. Interesting layout. Half links style, half tree lined. Greens have weeds growing through them and the greens are rock hard. But for a $19 comp round fee included in green fee you really cant complain. Great members and very friendly staff.

Played this course recently for the first time, it is a course of two distinct parts, the inside of the running track is very open but the hazard running thru the inside makes you lay up on a few holes, the outside holes i found that you could either blaze away with the driver or if you think about placing your tee shots sensibly you will be rewarded. Hole 7, a 325m par4 dog leg, is an interesting hole and played sensibly you will reap the rewards. enjoyed the walk around this course and will be playing again sometime soon to see how much lower i can go since i now know the layout

This a course of two distinct parts. Inside the racetrack is fairly up and down and only small shrub like trees impede a shot at the green if you've strayed over to the next fairway. However, a 2m deep trench runs through the middle of the racetrack so take that into consideration on certain tees. Outside the track was a different style with a couple of tricky dogleg holes and well manicured greens and fairways. The dogleg 325m par 4 7th is a peculiar hole, if you haven't played it before you have no idea where to hit the tee shot. A poor golf hole on an otherwise reasonable country course. Course is flat and an easy walk, although there are several places where the next tee is 100-200 metres away. The greens were a bit furry and in need of a cut, but rolled faster than they looked and the fairways were reasonable. We played on a Tuesday and it was $10 for as much golf as you want (usually $25 but Monday and Tuesday have this special). Excellent value for money on the cheap days.

I played here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed my round at a relaxing country style course. Inside the racetrack is fairly up and down and only small shrub like trees impeed a shot at the green if you've swayed over to the next fairway... However, a 2m deep trench runs through the middle of the racetrack so take that into consideration on certain tees. Outside the track was really well presented with a couple of tricky dogleg holes and well manicured greens and fairways. The dogleg 325m par 4 7th is an interesting hole. If you take on the trees on the left a straight hit 200m on the fly could set up an eagle putt...risk v reward... Service was friendly, and the course was in good condition and if you're a keen golfer with a handicap of 1 or 30, Gordonvale has its own unique character and should be played if you're in the area!

Measures 5575m Par 70 from the back tees with 6 Par 3s ranging from 110-180m, 8 Par 4s ranging from 275-425m and four Par 5s ranging from 440-525m. Quite irritating crossing the racetrack 4 times when playing in order of the card. Members here tend to play the inside holes then the outer holes, so if it seems that some groups have pushed in, it is merely how this strange course is laid out.

Holes are very flat with standard doglegs, but lacks any thought and imagination. The course is well maintained and has recently cored its greens. The greens here are very flat and upside down saucer-like in appearance.

Bad shots are rarely punished, with 7 bunkerless greens, and par 5s easily reachable in regulation. Par 3s are not heavily bunkered, so birdie is a given.

Played here 27/7/06 and paid $22 green fees. Members and clubhouse are friendly, but of the 4 Cairns courses, this is perhaps the easiest of the lot. Good for the social hit, but for the serious golfers, perhaps Paradise Palms or Cairns GC would better suit.
