COURSE DETAILS

Set amid spectacular mountain scenery, the course features generous fairways and large greens making it player-friendly for members & social players. However for all major events the course proves a more challenging test. With the tees back and the pins tricky suddenly friendly becomes mean and the course proves that it can bite back.

Played this course 3 years ago and it has fortunately improved in the intervening period. Additional works around the fairways and the updated driving range now make for a good quality establishment. At $55 per player in a cart it is a reasonable deal with good greens & fairways very well grassed. Friendly and helpful Pro Shop staff. Would be happy to be a Member if I lived in Cairns.

Played here on wednesday the 13th of May. Had a $49 deal, 18 holes, Cart and fish and chips. Course was in fairly good condition after holding their open event the week prior. Fairways were good. Bunkers consistent sand. Greens were rock hard. Still enjoyed the course.

An excellent course located south of the city of Cairns. Well presented with a variety of hole styles and tropical settings, there are plenty of water hazards and bunkers too. There appears to be a significant number of members in the club but I have never had trouble getting on the course, or having a round in good time. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I think the green fees on a Thursday afternoon were $30 or $35.

A really great golf course, its a total shame their staff are stuck up and rude! tried to book a tee time to play in there Saturday competition with two mates and they acted like they were doing me a favour? My advice save your money and go up the road and play at paradise palms, they at least acted like they wanted my money! i wouldnt give cairns golf club the satisfaction of taking my money!

This is a very good Members course, with an interesting mix of holes. An easy walk with green fees of $35 being very reasonable for the quality supplied. The greens were good and the fairways were in excellent condition and there were a number of tight driving holes. The signature hole is probably the 11th, a par three with a decorative lake between you and the green. Well worth a game if you are in the area. One thing to note is that the course is difficult to find. You need to turn off the highway before you reach it, if coming from the city, but there are no signs at the highway. Once you turn off the highway follow the signs through a maze of small streets to the car park.

I paid $30 green fees on a Friday afternoon and thought it was fantastic value for a course in the Cairns region. The course is heavily bunkered around the greens and are also placed in clever locations from the tees. 7 of the 18 holes have water in play which keeps you honest. The greens were in great condition, consistent and spongey. The fairways looked great and even the rough was mowed and playing out of it was easy. The picturesque par 3's of 8 and 11 are real features and the 487m par 5 12th with water 40m infront of the green makes a good challenge. Cairns Golf Club provides a great golfing experience and with a driving range and central location makes it a top pick in Far North Queensland.
