Water hazards and bunkers are a common defence at Twin Waters Golf Club in Queensland and the short par-four 6th is a brilliant example.

Twin Waters Resort Golf Course is a challenging world class 18 hole course designed by the five times British Open Champion Peter Thompson. The British influence is especially evident with the many pot bunkers that are sprinkled around in the best links tradition. The pot bunker beside the 8th green resembles the famous St Andrews Road Hole bunker.

The course design takes full advantage of the natural bushland setting and features rolling generous fairways with many grass covered mounds and hollows. The course’s reputation arguably places it as one of the best courses in the country. Peter Thompson believes that both golfing purists and amateurs alike will enjoy the challenge the course presents, with most players only using the one ball throughout their round. It is a flexible course, testing the boldest professional, the club player and the casual golfer by alteration of tee and pin placements, coupled with strategic positioning of bunkers and the natural vegetation.

Having just paid $ 82 for 18 holes of golf and  $ 46  for an electric cart for myself,  where the cart didn't contain an ice box, nor did it have any sand in its divot repair bottles, is a bit rich, but should keep its Japanese owners smiling.

And add another $ 8.- for a very small bucket of balls for the driving range, makes one wonder?  Keeping in mind that the rather beautiful and challenging Bonville Resort Course comes cheaper and is surely more challenging. But in Twin Waters defence, it is a very well maintained course and has a  good layout. I suppose one has to pay for all the feed for the kangaroos which linger around the course.

Very nice course. Playable by all handicap golfers and social players. In very good nick with greens nicely paced and true. A number of short par 4s make birdies achievable. Well worth the price.

Pretty nice course that is well looked after, although charging your third ball an extra $25 for a cart is a joke. Especially when this cart runs out of battery before the 15th. Stitch up

First time I played this course was on Wednesday 8th of March. Got out at first light and just loved it. Maybe it's because I'm used to the Yarra Valley courses but I just couldn't get over the gorgeous fairways and true greens. In fact, I loved it so much I got 9 in the next day before flying home. Highly recommended and my first stop on the Sunshine Coast.

Twin Waters certainly has settled into an extremely good pretty golf course. Highly recommend it. The only issue was the slowish play (4 hours 40 minutes) with no marshall to hurry along the slow players.  Everything is very well appointed and the greens are excellent. We will be back. Please get a Marshall!

Course is an absolutely sublime condition. Fairways and greens just amazing to play on. Not the most challenging course and you can stay out of trouble. Back 9 I found more challenging on your approach shots with the elevated greens.
