Played here last Friday, slowest round I've ever played. They obviously put too many people on the course. A group of members in front of us gave up and went home it was so bad. Poor m

With an even amount of par 3s, 4s and 5s, Mt Coolum’s unique layout gives a good opportunity to score well on the shorter holes but lots of par 5s with hazards lining the fairways make a real challenge. The layout is generally pretty flat so there is no problem walking the 5698m blue course. The slightly elevated greens are in great condition and the overall presentation is top rate for a public course and certainly rivals Palmer Coolum up the road. Water comes into play on about half the course but particularly on the 4th, 6th and 17th. The hazard on the 4th crosses the fairway at a driving distance so a 3 wood or hybrid is needed off this tee and on the 6th the hazard cuts across the fairway on your second shot with a narrow fairway to further emphasise accuracy. The par 5 17th is probably the signature hole with Mt Coolum a stunning backdrop as you hit down the fairway and water to clear if you choose to go for the well bunkered green in two. Holiday makers and locals alike have numerous golfing options on the Sunshine Coast and Mt Coolum doesn’t disappoint with an interesting layout, great facilities and a peaceful natural setting. Green fees are $48 to walk but some great online specials with carts included will make it a better deal.

This course use to be one of the better public courses on the Sunshine Coast and a fantastic club.

However things have changed a lot **** all through the greens, fairways in terrible condition. Grass around the greens and the surrounds are very average. Which makes getting up and down near non impossible.

Tee blocks still slope with ball either above your feet or below on most tees.

Then there is the catering (well the lack of it) after a round of golf the first thing you want is something to eat and a beer. Bearing in mind this was a comp day. The kitchen closed at 2 pm. (Also the halfway hut on the course closes at 3pm) Don't clubs make their money out of beverage and food!!!!!

The two positives at the club are excellent pro shop staff with the head pro being one of the more like-able characters you will ever meet. Also the great views of Mount Coolum while having a drink on the balcony.

Highly recommended. Having to drive nearly 2 hours to get there, I also played Palmer Coolum resort. I must say I enjoyed Mt Coolum better. I walked this course and thoroughly enjoyed the panorama, wildlife and greenery. Quite a few long holes which were challenging if you strayed from the fairways. Pro Steve was excellent and scurried me off on the front 9 to avoid the ladies at the 10th tee when their comp begins. Very enjoyable course. Will be back.

All clubs need to disclose any abnormal course conditions when players call to book, shouldn't have to find out about this when you arrive.
