Measuring 5758m from the blue plates, Caloundra’s par 71 layout consists of 50 bunkers, 5 dams and several drains that cut across fairways which are lined by tall gums. The greens are superb to putt on and irrigated surrounds make for some soft lies around the putting surfaces. Highlights on the front include the 372m left bending par 4 3rd with water then sandy waste areas looming down the left; the 491m par 5 4th with the widest fairway out there and a drain 40m to 80m from the green  almost always forces a lay up on your second and the 167m par 3 9th with an elevated tee and a large bunker guarding the right portion of the green. The back nine features the shortest par 4 at just 270m but the right bending fairway and drain that cuts across the fairway 200m from the tee can punish too much aggression. The 387m finishing hole (index 2) demands an accurate drive to the corner to avoid the left bunker with a further four sand traps surrounding the elevated green. The clubhouse has a great view down the 18th fairway and along with the well maintained surfaces and an interesting layout that dates back to the early 1950’s make Caloundra Golf Club well worth a hit when visiting the Sunshine Coast.

Pleaseant course to play but wouldn't go rushing back to play. The green fee charged is over the top for a club course. Some holes seem a a bit the same.

Great course with no big surprises and lots of variety. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Pro shop was friendly. Cost was reasonable at $66 with a cart. Would definitely play here again.

Played on a Sunday early morning, still very busy, lay out was ok but needs some TLC, Looks like a well worn local course, friendly staff & locals, good price & worth a look.

I chose to play at the Twilight time and rate (2:30pm for $20) last Friday arvo and it too me 40 mins to complete the first 2 holes. There wasn't one particular slow group from what I could see - just too many people. I walked off after this and got a refund. Don't bother playing here in the afternoon. It's hard to find a less pricey course in this area but the pain of waiting for slow/clogged play here isn't worth it!
