The small town of Taroom boasts a well maintained flat 18 hole sandgreen track measuring just under 5900m. The course sits beside the Leichardt Highway and is surrounded on 3 sides by quiet cattle properties and bush scrub. Most fairways are fairly wide and there are a couple of water hazards and OOB lurking on numerous holes. Highlights include the 356m par 4 9th with an iconic bottle tree standing in the middle of the fairway 150m from the green and the 380m par 4 15th (index 3) with one of the narrowest tee shots you'll face with imposing gums lining the fairway. The overall presentation at Taroom is quite good with well grassed fairways which green up nicely in the warmer months and the 4th and 16th tee boxes that sit on the dam walls is a nice feature for a bush track. The club runs a small competition on Sunday mornings and a social round is $5.
